Unbridled Joy - A century of living, loving & laughing

You’re about to meet Joy Saunders; a Canadian woman who insists she’s "nothing special".   But I’m not alone in the opinion that she is utterly remarkable.

When we recorded this, Joy was 99 years old (she’s now 104!) This was before her now famous “A Walk With Joy” VON fundraiser that we worked on together during the lockdown of 2020. That effort was met with appreciation and love from people across Canada, and it led to Joy being awarded with the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers.

As you’ll see for yourself, Joy is fiercely independent, intelligent, strong, brave, wise, generous, and hilarious. As a child, she once served tea to King George VI, but in this episode of The Soul Booth she sat down for “a cuppa” with me, and (as always) I loved every minute of our time together.

Come along for a great conversation over tea in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia - otherwise known as “The Home of Joy”.
